Sheikh Ibrahim Bawa Mai Shinkafa is a son to Mallam Abdullahi Danbatta.
The father of Sheikh Ibrahim Bawa Mai Shinkafa is a notable Islamic schoar and a well Arabic language speaker.
He is originated from Danbatta local government area of Kano state, he passed away the time that Sheikh Ibrahim Bawa Mai Shinkafa is in primary 3.
His mother was Malama Aisha (Lami) she used to sale rice, and she is also originated from (Donga) a remote area near Ibi town of Taraba state.
His Birth
Sheikh Ibrahim Bawa Mai Shinkafa was born in Ibi local government area of Taraba state.
He was born at the right time that his mother is in her business place where she used to sale rice, it is from that time he was nicknamed as Bawa Mai Shinkafa by his Mother.
His Educational Background
Sheikh Ibrahim Bawa Mai Shinkafa begins his Qur’anic school in his village and studied many Islamic books from his father.
In his three years, his father send him to Qur’anic school after he acquired little knowledge of Islam, his father send him to Bula Primary School where he graduated in 1967.
He then proceed to Zaure school in Ibi, Kaduna, Zaria and Katsina state.
He attended Arabic teachers college Katsina in 1978.

His Contributions to the Service of Islam.
His contributions to the service of Islam came in line After hecompleted his studies at Arabic teachers College Katsina, in 1981, he came back home and start at government primary as a Headmaster, he also established a rules and regulations that impressed everyone.

1-No body should enter his office or classroom without saying √Peace be upon You✓ or Assalamu Alaikum.
In view of this, many parents were happy and cherished Sheikh Ibrahim Bawa Mai Shinkafa for this wonderful achievements and Contributions he provides through the liberating the minds and behavior of their children.
As a result of this, gradually the name of Sheikh Ibrahim Bawa Mai Shinkafa disappear, he is only identified as Mallam Assalamu Alaikum.
Because of his thirsty for teaching the society, he retired from government job, he only focused on teaching the society free of charges.
Since before his departure to Arabic College Katsina, he is the first teacher in Ibi that Jama’atu Nasril Islam gave a certificate of teaching the society in and outside the town.
His Involvement in JIBWIS
The time that Jama’atu Izalati-Bid’ah Wa’iqamatus-Sunnah (JIBWIS) was established in 1978 Sheikh Ibrahim Bawa Mai Shinkafa was among the member and became amongst the first that gave their own contributions towards the advancement of Islam in terms of teaching and influence of the good behavior and character as follows:
1-He follows strict methods in teaching the society in charismatic.
2-He helps in spreading Islam in and outside the country.
3-Many people accepted Islam because of his virtuous attitude.
Even the people that he is not the same sect with him accepted his teachings and preaching.
4-He is the first Scholar that dominate the hearts of his followers.
5-He preaches in all the States of Nigeria.
Sheikh Ibrahim Bawa Mai circulated all the 36th States of Nigeria including the state capital FCT Abuja.

Because of this, Jama’atu Izalati-Bid’ah Wa’iqamatus-Sunnah used to swap and exchange from one location to another especially in the Holy month of Ramadan.

His Death
Sheikh Ibrahim Bawa Mai Shinkafa died on Wednesday 23rd month of Sha’aban which equivalent to 01-12-1999 in Plateau state at 07:30 am after a brief illness.
The news of his died shocked the entire Muslim society of not only in Nigeria but in some countries of Africa.
Sheik Imam Abdullahi Balalau Said “God has taken Sheikh Ibrahim Bawa Mai Shinkafa the exact days that he is needed by people.
Thousands of people attended his funeral.
His funeral prayer was conducted in Eid Mosque in Plateau state.
His funeral prayer was led by one of his students Sheikh Yusuf Sambo Rigachukum.
